Team Canada consists of 40 serving members and Veterans of the Canadian Armed Forces, who acquired a physical and/or mental health illness or injury while in service to Canada.
The team is managed through the Canadian Armed Forces’ Soldier On program which contributes to the recovery of ill and injured Canadian Armed Forces members and veterans by providing opportunities and resources through sport, recreational and creative activities. Participation of Team Canada and Friends and Family at the DoD Warrior Games is made possible through a close collaboration with the True Patriot Love Foundation.
Since inception in 2007, Soldier On has supported over 10,000 ill and injured members through various local, regional, national, and international initiatives such as the Invictus Games and DoD Warrior Games. Members use sport, recreational, and creative activity to enhance the domains of wellbeing through improved health, increased social integration, purpose, confidence, and developing new skills.
